Hello,
My Callaghan family genealogy only goes back to the 1830s. The first was an Edward
Callaghan from Ireland (no clue whereabouts though) who settled in Airdrie, Glasgow just
before the 1840s with his wife Maria Boyle. Children were Bernard (also known as
Barnard), Margaret, Mary, Matthew and a Rose. Edward was an ironstone miner in Scotland as
were his children. Only know that ironstone mining existed in Tipperary and Kilkenny but
have never been able to pinpoint Edward's Irish roots. The same applies to his wife
Maria's Iris roots - no clues there either.
Thanks
Clare
