Hi,
I do not have a connection to your branch of the Callaghan clan to
mine but I wanted tp point out that it appears you are missing a generation?
Tracing back your ancestors -
Grandfather 21 years after his father's
birth - 1926
Great Grandfather 36 years after his father's
birth - 1905
Great Great Grandfather 70 years after his father's
birth - 1874
Greatb Great Great Grandfather
1804?
Perhaps there is another link missing?
Good luck.
Phil

Hi, i am trying to trace my maternal grandfathers ancestors and have reached
a blank.
My G.G.G.G grandfather was a chap called James Callaghan and he was born
about 1804 I think in Sligo. He married a lady called Mary Kinsey but I am
unable to find out anything about her, where she was born etc.
My G.G.G grandfather was Roger C Callaghan, born 1874. My G.G grandad was
Simeon Callaghan, born 1905 - 1971 and my grandfather Kenneth Callaghan who
was born in 1926.
I'd really appreciate any asistance!
Many thanks, Jean

The surname Callaghan derives from the Gaelic o Ceallagchain, descendent of
Ceallanchan, which means bright-headed. The surname originated out of
Munster.
