We are at a dead brick wall. We have voluminous information for the
descendants, needing the connection past our above Silas CALL, just not our
connection possibility to James Call, the wanderer, of MASS.
There are several Silas Calls within our birth years, and has been very
confusing for us. We are involved in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Mass.......
There is a Captain Silas Call and a Private Silas Call, do not know if
either one are connected to us. We believe our connection is to James Call and
his 3 wives in some way, but just cannot make that connection.
Was our Silas a twin? Was our Silas perhaps born out of wedlock? Someone
out there just has to have our information, but do not know they have it.
What we do know as the last ancestor we can locate in our Call genealogy
journey is:
Silas Call was born between 1776 and 1784 in NH. He appeared on the census
in 1810 in Sheldon, Genesee Co., New York with his name spelled "Syles" Call.
However Silas Call also might have been born in Vermont, so thereby our
ultimate confusion.
From an Ancestry Tree states Silas Call born abt 1781 in of Hartford,
Windsor, Vermont.
Our Silas Call married Polley (aka Polly) Whitney, daughter of Jonathan
Whitney and Mary Woodward, on Oct 21, 1802 in Hartford, Windsor, Vermont.
Silas Call appeared on the census in 1820 in Mentz, Cayuga Co., New York.
He was ill with influenza and died about 1829.
Silas Call and Polley aka Polly had 11 children.
The ones we have information on are:
Ira W. Call
Eliza Call
Chauncey L. Call
Harriet P. Call
Silas Edmund Call
Does anyone have any further information for us?
Thank you
Kat
