Which Calls have you all been looking for? A lot of Calls show up in Virginia especially
Buckingham County Va. The problem is though as follows: One (1) John M. Call shows up as
a son of Wilson Call (Buckingham) and another shows up as a son of Flemming Call who is in
West Virginia. One was born 1829 and the other 1840. Wilson and Flemming are probably
1/2 brothers - they have the same mother Virginia Jane Smith but different fathers one was
Reuben Rush Call and the other Maurice L. Call. Supposedly Reuben was born in Tazewell
County Va. Flemming was married twice once to an Elizabeth and secondly to Matilda Taylor.
They were in Kanawha County WVA. Flemming had 3 children that I could find with
Elizabeth - Rebecca Jane Call died in Missouri, John M. Call (born 1829) and Wm. F. These
children were born in Buckingham County Va. He had 8 more children with Matilda. They
were married in Putnam County Va. (now WVA).
There are at least 3 Thomas Calls that I can find in the GROUP. One or two in Buckingham
County and one in Putnam. The one in Putnam is Thomas Franklin Call b. 1865, the son of
Flemming. He married twice - once to Rosie Devore and secondly to Nancy Gibson. He had a
son named Henry Franklin Call who I believe was Rosie. In Buckingham County there was a
Henry French Call. Both Henry's birthdates are close. Henry French also died in West
Virginia. I will post more when I get a chance to go through more of my notes. My
grandfather was Poindexter Smith Call and he was from Buckingham.
