I am wondering if anyone can help me sort out this confusing information about Cynthia
Etta and Effie May Call:
According to the 1881 Quebec census Effie M. Call was a member of the Alpha Willard Call
household and was 7 years old at that time. Henry M., age 9 and Claricy B., age 5, were
also included in that family census.
According to the birth records at the Stanstead archives, Cynthia Etta Call, daughter of
Alpha Willard Call and Ellen Maria Call, was born August 11, 1873. They also had Henry
Merton and Clara Bell Call listed as Alpha Willard's children.
According to the records of researcher lnutbrown, Cynthia Etta
Call was born March 10, 1878 and Effie May Call was born November 8, 1873. Her records
show each of them as being baptised on July 12, 1878, as was their brother, Henry Merton
Call. She also had a record of the baptism of Clara Bell Call.
Alpha Willard and Ellen Maria were the parents of my grandmother, Clara Bell Call. I have
a picture of her with a girl and a boy who were her brother and sister. We also have a
later picture of Effie Mitchell, who was nee Effie Call.
I am wondering why Cynthia Etta was not in the 1881 census, and why Effie May was not
listed with the other members of the Call family in the Stanstead archives. I am also
wondering about the 1873 birthdates for each girl at different sources, but I don't
know how to validate or invalidate the information I have obtained.
