Jed,
I have had a very busy December since 2nd week, and also my computer died mid-November,
bought a new one on Dec 18, so I sincerely apologize for not responding until now. I so
appreciate your e-mail.
Your Silas Call is the one from New Hampshire who yes indeed married Mary Corser, etc. I
have no doubts that these CALL families are connected via the 3 CALL brothers who came to
USA originally and due to the name "Silas".
Our Silas Call first married Elizabeth ? maiden name and according to 1790 Barnard, VT
census were listed in that town and State, by following year they had a child (1791); we
have no idea what happened to this Silas Call's first wife or first child, but we do
know that he did marry Polly Whitney also in VT, at this moment do not have my info handy,
but felt compelled to at least answer this first e-mail.
We truly believe that this Silas Call is the son of James Call, known as "the
wanderer" who had 22 children with 3 wives, and our Silas Call we believe is through
his 2nd marriage to Hannah Rebecca Masters Call. As his half brother (from his
father's 3rd marriage) married Polly Whitney's half sister; and they lived in same
area together for a while in Vermont.
But you and Jim Call (person you referred to) perhaps might have information that could be
helpful to us if you have that many names now. I am very impressed.
We just do not have actual proof that we need to prove our positive theory.
Will be in touch later, and answer some of your other e-mails.
Thank you for your patience, appreciate it very much.
Kat

Just want to clarify. The files online at my website for this CALL family came
rom a town history that was, apparently not entirely correct. The line I have
ack to Silas is fine, but the generations previous to him online may be good
or parents, but faulty prior to them. I have the correct line, now in my
ffline database, and plan another upload sometime in the next couple of months.
y total database for that one is over 20,000 individuals, so uploading it is
sually a two-day process.
If you have specific questions, I'll be happy to answer them. Jim Call likely
as the correct info as well. Silas married MARY CORSER, not Jane. Though such
s the nature of the town history I was provided. Jane Corser (IF MEMORY
ERVES), was Mary's sister, and married another man (have his name in my home
ecords). I'm currently in touch with another researcher (CALL descendant) who
s applying for DAR membership via Silas, so we are in the process of tightening
p several files and some odd family branches and twigs in the process.
My connection is not as a descendant, but a descendant of Silas', Jonas Call,
arried Ida Kimball, who is closely connected to my Kimball ancestors.
Cheers, and Happy Holidays!
