Here is the exact text of her obituary:
"Funeral services for Minnie Calkins, 94, were held Sunday afternoon at two
o'clock in the Kubasiak Funeral Home. The Rev. Lloyd Phillips, pastor of the First
Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Curtis Cemetery, south of Bronson.
Minnie Calkins of 206 Ruggles Street, died Thursday in the Health Center, Coldwater,
following a long illness. She was born in Greenfield, Indiana, August 11, 1873, a
daughter of A.W. and Frances (Clum) Ruhl. She had lived in the Bronson area most of her
lifetime. On July 11, 1896, she was married to Samuel Pember Calkins, in Orland, Indiana.
She was a member of the Methodist Church, a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern
Star and a past member of the Bronson Women's League. Surviving are one daughter,
Mrs. Gertrude Andresen of Scottville; two sons, Ruhl Calkins of Bronson and Harold Calkins
of Detroit; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild."
