Shelley,
I received your email this morning. I am a 1st cousin twice-removed to
Anna M. Frakes. She is the daughter of my great grandfather's sister, my
great grandfather being Thomas Calkins of Webster City, Iowa.
I've been doing the family history for many years. I do have a family
portrait of Anna with her parents. I like to collect as many photos of the
family as I can so I am interested in the photo that you have run across.
What would you charge to send it to me?
You may have already heard from a closer relative to Anna than I am that
would be interested in the photo. I think that person should get the photo.
Let me know your thoughts.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Miss Anna FRAKES who became Mrs. Anna
BAIN. The photograph was taken at the McAdam Studio in Webster City, IA
sometime in the 1880's most likely. Anna appears to be in her 20's at the
time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to
gather the following information regarding Anna and her family:
Anna M. FRAKES was b. 25 May 1868 in Cass, IA to parents Andrew Jackson
"AJ"
FRAKES (1840-1916) and Mary Alice CALKINS or CAULKIN (1850-1925). Anna was
one of 10 children born to this couple including, Anna M.; John W.; Mattie
or Hattie or Harriet Evelyn; William Wesley; Andrew Jackson; Charles
Arthur:
Frances "Fannie" or "Fanny" G. or J.; Cora E.; Frankie E.; and Walter
C.
FRAKES, all born between 1868 and 1893. Anna married Alexander BAIN
(1861-1908 - son of Robert BAIN and Christianna "Christy" HENDRIE) and she
died 1 Aug 1943 in Webster City, IA.
I'm hoping to locate someone from this FRAKES Family so that the photograph
can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you
know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
