Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County)
Nov 27, 1908
CALKINS-KATZ--At the residencee of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. M. Davis,
Thursday, November 26, 1908, C.Carlton Calkins, and Mrs. Lilla Davis Katz, Rev. W. A.
Williams officiating.
The wedding was a quiet one, only a few invited guests being present. The bride has grown
up in our city and is well known for many good qualities. Mr. Calkins is one of our most
successful men. He came to Longmont during colony times, March 1871, and became a farmer
taking up a land northeast of Longmont. This farm he was able to turn over to his sons
about twelve years ago. He has been associated with the Farmer's mill as stock holder
and director since the beginning of its history, and a director of the Farmer's
National Bank. He has been interested in many other Longmont's industries and
successfully. He is a civil engineer and has served the city in that capacity. Was a
member of the Assembly in 1892-2.
The Ledger extends best wishes. Mr. and Mrs. Calkins will go to Long Beach, Cal., possibly
by way of Texas and other southern points and maybe absent all winter.
I believe this was her first marriage...Carlton being her second.

KATZ-DAVIS--At the home of the bride's parents, Longmont Thursday Oct 6, 1904, Mr.
Benjamin Katz of Lyons, and Miss Lilla Mae Davis of Longmont, Rev. C.W. Longren
officiating...
Find-a-grave...58881941, but as Lilla Calkins....
Carlton Calkins 53385267
I find an obit that Benjamin Katz died in 1905, so this would explain this next marriage
announcement...
Some verification would need to be made, but this info if confirmed would nice to add to
the memorial for Lilla Calkins...both her first and second marriage and her maiden name.
The owner of this memorial will not add any info unless the request comes from a family
member, which I am not.
