Me, too. There are many things you can do with it. One of the first things you should do
is get into some other databases. Download your results from Ancestry to your computer
and then send those to
gedmatch.com (free) and also to
familytreedna.com ($39), so that
you are also in their databases. Go to those sites and follow their directions for
transferring DNA results. That way you can match people who tested through other
companies, and you can use the other companies' tools which are quite different from
Ancestry's. (They are different, but all are good.) You can gradually learn to use
the tools of each company, but in the meantime you are in the databases so you can match
people from all of them. Always attach your family tree, and your email address, to your
results. DNA testing is an amazing tool but it does take work and time.
Also, realize that just because you don't get the Ancestry "leaf," it does
not mean you don't share an ancestor in your family trees. If you each spelled a name
differently, or were slightly in error, then it won't show up as a leaf.
