SUMMERS FORD CALHOUN
PHILLIIPINE INSURRECTION
Summers Ford Calhoun was born June 15, 1888. He was the son of
Winfield Scott and Catherine (Bennett) Calhoun.
He enlisted in the service at a very young age.
Many of his years in service was during the presidency of William
Howard Taft and Woodrow Wilson. Some of the events during his service
were:
The Conflict with Mexico
The fall of Huerta's dictatorship of Mexico
The United States acquired the Phillippine Islands from Spain
Summers Ford spent many years in the Phillipine Islands, some time
in Mexico, Japan, and Texas.
He died January 21, 1961. He is buried in Arlington National
Cemetary, Arlington, Va.
