My Grandfather John B. Calhoun b. 1847 in Terre Haute, IN had a brother
Alexander William Calhoun b. about 1845-46.
I am including some of the notes we have on A W Calhoun of our family.
An niece of his said it was believed he lived in KY at one time.

54th Regiment Infantry (3 Months): Organized at Indianapolis, IN, May
30th to June 10th, 1862. Duty at Camp Morton, IN, guarding prisoners
until August 17, 1862. Ordered to Kentucky August 17 to repel threatened
invasion by Kirby Smith, and duty in Central Kentucky until September.
Skirmish at Shepherdsville, KY, September 7th (Co., C). Mustered out
October 4, 1862. Regiment lost 2 by disease during service.

Alexander Calhoun.
1906: The funeral service of William's Mother, Mrs. Eliza Calhoun were
conducted at the residence of A. W. Calhoun at 10 o'clock am, Tuesday by
the Rev. J. R. Atchley. She had lived there since 1883. (I think that if
William wrote this, could be his initials are correct here). It is said
in the Calhoun Family descendents that William Calhoun was a lawyer in
Bonham, Fannin Co., TX around the 1900's and lived out the rest of his
life in Kentucky. (Where?).
