Does anyone have anything on the following couple or their families?
Marriages:
Hannah Louise Morgan to John Louis Calhoun 05 February 1835
I looking for any Calhouns in 1800-1840 Jasper Co Georgia area to try and
find a family connection to my Sarah Frances Morgan Robinson who was
probably Hannah's sister.
I am trying to connect my families to the name Calhoun. I was told that my
grgrgrandmother Sarah was maiden name Calhoun, but found it instead to be
Morgan. Still looking for a reason descendants would think it was Calhoun,
and would have stories about the Calhoun family.
Some of my family names include: ROBINSON MORGAN DELANEY BRINN KNOX EVANS
MARTIN FULLER SMITH WARREN MILLER
KNOWN family connections so far include:
William C Robinson born 1824 in Jasper Co Georgia to John Robinson and Mary
Knox
Married in 1848 Jasper Co GA, to Sarah Frances Morgan, who was b 1824-1830
in Jasper Co GA.
They had 3 children:
Mary C, Emma C., and John Walter Robinson.
The middle initial of both the father William (and also his brother James C.
Robinson) is unknown, and the middle initial of both Mary and Emma are
unknown. Emma's presumed to have been Calhoun for the mother, Mary presumed
to have been for the father middle initial.
It has been presumed Emma C Robinson's middle name is Calhoun, and that she
was named after her mothers maiden name. That is now questioned because we
found the mothers marriage information and family connections, and
discovered her maiden name was Morgan.
Emma C. Robinson marries John Adam Brandon in 1872 Texas. Mary later went by
middle name Louise, and married John Kelton Clark in Texas. John Robinson
marries Mattie Waggoner in Texas.
Sarah Frances Morgan's name appears in the Bible records of Stokely Morgan
Sr of Lowndes Co GA.
(Source: Austin, Jeannette Holland. Georgia Bible Records. Baltimore, MD:
Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., 1985)
From these records, it would indicate that Sarah is the daughter of
Stokely
Morgan Sr. and Mary Evans Morgan. Stokely Morgan is son of Luke John Morgan
and was probably born in Onslo, North Carolina.
As it appears in the Stokely Morgan Bible records, handwritten in two
places:
Marriages:
Sarah Jane Morgan to W. C. Robinson 06 July 1846
[NOTE: According to Jasper County, Georgia Marriages, Sarah F. Morgan
married William C. Robinson on 06 July 1848. Later family records have her
listed as Sarah Frances Morgan Robinson and later after being widowed
married Allen P Morris. Both men were physicians and probably knew each
other.]
Births:
Sarah Frances Morgan 15 July 1824
There is one mention of a Calhoun in this Stokely Morgan family Bible. We
can presume it is for a daughter (or niece) of Stokely Morgan Sr named
Hannah Morgan.
Marriage: Hannah Louise Morgan to John Louis Calhoun 05 February 1835 (no
location given, presumed Jasper or Newton CO GA.)

Stokely Morgan Sr b 6 Sept 1775 (parents presumed: Luke John Morgan b 1740
in Onslo NC, and Mary Eschles, of Washington Co GA.)
Marriage Miss Mary (aka Polly) Evans 22 April 1810 Jasper County GA
(according to Bible records)
Death 10 Feb 1833 Jasper Co GA
I am also looking for information on his presumed nephew, Henry C Morgan.
Henry married Susannah B Harris.
It is possible that Henry took care of Stokely's children to some extent
after Stokely died in 1833.

This is all presumed based on postings of others, I have not yet resourced
and copied any proof docs (Other than the Bible records for what they are
worth.)
I would be glad to share if anyone has any further info on these Morgans,
Robinsons, etc., and their possible Calhoun connections.
Thanks for your help,
Diane
