We made a trip to that area in April 2005 and I would be happy to share a
few tips with you. There is a visitors center in Luss that doesn't open
until May 1st. It looked very interesting and we were sorry to have just
missed the opening date. The tourist shops were open in April. The ancient
Calhoun Church in the village has the most beautiful stained glass--the
ladies at the visitor center let us in to take pictures. The locals are
very friendly and helpful and were interested that we were Calhoun
descendants. We stayed at Colquhoun Lodge and had the most wonderful stay
with a beautiful view of Loch Lomond--lovely meals were included in the room
prices. You can not go into Rossdhu which is now a private golf club but
you can walk on the pretty grounds near the old gate. Let me know if you
would like any other information-- I have many pictures if you are
interested in seeing some of them please contact me at

Subject: [Calhoun] Luss/Lomond
I am a descendant of Malcolm Calhoun and Christian McCorqudale. My
sister, cousin,
and I are planning a trip to Scotland, probably in April. I saw on an
email from
last August that you had been to the Lomond are. The email referred to
pictures
from the area. I don't have any earlier emails, because it was last
summer when I
finally replaced my computer that was lost in hurricane Katrina. Could
you please
send me the pictures and any information that might me helpful. I would
greatly
appreciate it. Frances Montgomery
