Glenn Clinton Calhoun, Sr., 85, died Friday, January 27, 2006, at the Carroll Hospital
Center, Westminster, Md. Born May 18, 1920, in Madison, Miss., he was the son of the late
James Emmett and Emily Victoria Wagoner Calhoun. He was the husband of Ethel Garland
Calhoun who died June 11, 2004. He was retired from Black & Decker where he was a
Certified Tool and Die Maker for 36 years. He was a member of the National Rifle
Association. Mr. Calhoun is survived by his children, John Calhoun of Hampstead, Md.,
Robert Calhoun of Upperco, Md., Joan Calhoun of Manchester, Md., Glenn Calhoun, Jr. of
Manchester, Md., and David Calhoun of Hanover; a brother, J. Lyal Calhoun of
Massachusetts; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by a sister, Margaret Houck; and brothers, Ivan, Harold, Roland, Stewart, and Hazen
Calhoun. Funeral services will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A., 3296 Charmil
Drive, Manchester, Md., on Monday, January 30, 2006,!
at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Chris Brammer of Hampstead Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Lineboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3
to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made
towards the maintenance of Lineboro Cemetery, Inc., 5115 South Church St., Lineboro, MD
21102.
