try looking up online for asylum census records. The state poorhouse/asylum
was called, "Eloise" or Eloise Hospital, and she might be listed in their
census records. They are transcribed and online but I dont have a web
address handy.
Otherwise, there is a state historical library in Lansing that may do
lookups for a fee. I would do it but have no plans to be there anytime soon.
good luck!
Diane

Subject: [CALHOUN] Help
I know a Wealthy Coston died Oct. 8 1901 in Marengo, Calhoun Co., MI.
She
was living in the poorhouse when she died. I know the poorhouse has no
records for 1901, nor did the pauper graves have stones.
However, I am hopeful that there may be a small obit in the local paper -
would anyone be able to offer suggestions on where to write/call to see if
an
obit was placed?
I had another line that died in a poorhouse, buried with no stone, but an
obit was in the paper.
Thank you.
