Perhaps you have heard about Ancestry's effort to string together a
number of sources of basic information which could bridge the gap left
by the destruction of the 1890 US Census. As the various bits are put
online (mostly city directories, but also tax lists, voter registration
lists, etc), they will be searchable for free for a few weeks. So it
might be worthwhile to visit this url weekly. Would anyone from this
list volunteer to do such a lookup and report back to the list with
their findings? I'm just too swamped to take on another project!

Please write me privately <mailto:valoriez@aa.net> if you are willing to
get this sort of report weekly, as we only need one person doing it!

I haven't heard from anyone willing to do the lookups for this list, and
as I've said, I really AM too busy to take on another project. Yes, for
this list it will take only five to fifteen minutes, depending on how
much data needs to be copied, pasted, and neatened up. But I have
*fourteen* lists, so a weekly sweep for all of them is out of the
question for me, especially as my laptop is still dead! I would really
LOVE to see this information posted to the list, and I would love for
one of you dear list members to volunteer to do the work for your fellow
researchers.
