I am looking for a Sarah F Calhoun, who was born about 1830, presumably in Georgia.
She married a Walter Robinson and had kids in Georgia 1850-1857.
Mary Robinson
Emma Calhoun Robinson
Walter John Robinson
SPECULATIONS ARE:
There are family stories corroborated from several branches that say her husband was a
landowner, slaveholder and doctor.
It is said his name was Walter Robinson and his son was Walter Jr.
It is believed that they divorced in 1858ish.
(I previously thought he died 1858 but other descendants have the divorce story in their
family history as well.)
One branch says they thought she married twice, to Robinson brothers. There is no proof of
this at all.
Some family members said that Sarah F was named Frances and born in South Carolina.
Some believe that the kids were raised in Alabama, but census records indicate they were
born in GA and raised mostly in LA.
DOCUMENTATION:
The earliest I have this Sarah is her 1859 marriage in Mongomery Alabama:
Groom: Dr. Allen P. Morris
Bride: Mrs S. F. Robison
Date: 03 Jan 1859
Location: Montgomery AL
Performed by E. M. F.
Surety/Perf Name: William B Neal
Comment: handwritten note used

LAND RECORDS
1860 Land records indicate Dr Allen P Morris had 200 acres of land issued to him from the
Natchitoches land office in Louisiana.
DEATH RECORDS

Louisiana.

(His wife had died, he is no longer calling himself a "physician," his 13 year
old stepson Walter ran away, supposedly because of ill treatment by Dr Morris, and
supposedly to go toTexas with some Calhoun/Robinson family friends from Georgia or Alabama
named the Dulaneys. The Robinson step daughters were taking care of the Morris children in
1870.)
CENSUS RECORDS 1880, Morris & Robinson
In 1880 the census lists A P as a widower and living with his son James O and daughter
Sarah F. Morris as farmers in Caldwell County Texas. (Emma and Walter John were living
just two counties north about a day's ride away at most from AP and Jimmie and
Sarah-aka Fannie-Morris.)
Emma and her brother Walter John Robinson were both in Texas by 1875, and are on the 1880
Coryell County TX census. Emma married John Adam Brandon and lived and died in Texas and
is buried in Wortham, TX.
MORE QUESTIONS AND SPECULATION
Unknown if Mary Robinson married in LA or also came to Texas, and we believe she may have
been called "Minnie."
Unknown fate of Morris kids (we knew their names to be Jimmy and "Fannie")
Unknown: birth and death records for any of these people.
Unknown burial information for any of these people (We have Walter Robinson and Emma
Robinson Brandon.)
Please help.
