Dear Valorie...,
May I address you by your first name as I am the elder by a few
years?
I am looking for the connection between the Hamiltons and the
Colquhouns. My
great grandfather's middle name was Calhoun and I have been
wondering
where
the name came from. His gg grandmother was Mary Hamilton sister of
Andrew,
William, and she married John Byrd who had settled in VA on Jackson
Creek.
He was killed by the Indians as they were trying to get to Fort
Dinwinddie.
Mary and all the children but Sarah were captured. Do you have any
information about them?
I tried once to send a note to Chester but it came back. I must
have
his
address wrong.
Any help would be truly appreciated.
Thanks.
