Thank you for responding with this information. I'm sure some of my file is incorrect,
but when I learn a tidbit, I go ahead and record it for later, rather than lose it over
time.
I show Patience Calhoun as a daughter of William Calhoun and Martha Wimberly. Perhaps he
remarried later to an Elizabeth--I don't have that information. I do show William as
a son of Adam, but another researcher told me he was a son of Micajah and his wife,
Jemina/Jemima Dixon. So many with the same names keep us confused! This branch of the
Calhouns came from Barnwell County, SC (as did mine), so they are all related. It is
likely the Waldens came from there, as well, as some of them state in census records SC as
their birthplace. There are several of the Jefferson County Calhouns buried at Bethany
Cemetery in Wadley.
I don't show Henry "Harry" Walden as a Jr.--I have him as a son of Samuel
Walden.
The Samuel Allen you mentioned married Elizabeth Walden, sister of Henry
"Harry".
If you will contact me off the board, I will send you what I have on these Calhouns and
Waldens. Perhaps there will be something you can use.
