I was always told my ancestor was Sarah Frances Calhoun, and she married Dr Robinson and
had children Mary, Emma and Walter John Robinson before remarrying and having children
Sarah F and James O. Morris.
Now I have discovered the mother of my Robinson ancestors was named Sarah Francis Morgan,
and she was born in 1830 in GA, and in 1849 she married Dr William C Morris in Jasper Co
GA.
She did name her daughter Emma Calhoun Robinson, and I am wondering where she got that
middle name, and why my family thought this was mother Sarah's maiden name.
Do you think the name Calhoun could have come from Dr. William C??? Robinson? Dr William C
Robinson was born 14 July 1824 in Baldwin GA to John Robinson and Mary Knox. William C and
Sarah F Robinson named their daughter Emma "Calhoun" Robinson, so there must
have been a Calhoun connection somewhere. Also, William had a brother James C Robinson,
and no one knows what his middle name was. Perhaps another C for Calhoun?
Anyone have any ideas?
We believe this Dr Robinson was son of John Robinson, who was son of John who was son of
Luke Robinson. As far as we know none of the moms were maiden named Calhoun - we think we
know all or most on the Robinson side.
I do not know ANYTHING about this Sarah F Morgan, who MAY have been Sarah Frances Calhoun
born 1830 in GA who married a man named Morgan who then married a Robinson in 1849. (and
went on to marry Dr Allen Morris in 1859 Al and moved to Louisiana. The descendants all
ended up in Texas after 1880s.)
Does anyone have a connection from Calhoun surname to a Morgan or Robinson surname? Does
anyone have any knowledge of a Sarah F Morgan born 1830 in Georgia?
