I bought a box of old photos at a flea market 20 years ago and recently started looking up
the names on Ancestry. I have one of three people and a dog. It is labeled:
Graduating Class
Hobart High School, 1904.
Miss Belle Benedict
Mr. Raymond Symond (Simmond)
Mr. Myron Calhoun
Mr. Myron Calhoun Val. (Valedictorian, I presume.)
The dog is not identified.
Front and back image attached.
I found an entry in the Class History of Yale, 1906 for Roger Frederic Emerson. The last
paragraph reads "He was married September 21, 1910, in Hobart, N.Y. to Miss N. Belle
Benedict, daughter of Mrs. Nettie L. Benedict."
I found several family trees on Ancestry with Mr. Emerson in them and have sent a message
to each regarding the photo.
I could not find a Raymond Symond or Simmond.
I found several trees with Myron S. Calhoun, born in Stamford, NY in 1888. I have
notified them too.
It appears that Myron was the son of William and Abigail Calhoun of Stamford, NY. He
married Mary and had two sons, John and William. The family appears in the North Dakota
census in 1940 farming in the Cooperstown, Griggs County.
