Hello Everyone,
I was rummaging around in my files and ran across the following. I
don't recall exactly where I found this, but it is referenced. I hope
someone finds it useful.
DEED BOOK K, PAGES 21-22, CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY., COURT RECORDS:
We the subscribers, heirs, and devicess of Thomas Futrell, deceased,
do monimate, constitute, and appoint Levi Lancaster, a trustee and
lawful trustee in full, in fact for us and in our names, to sell on
credit of twelve months, the negroes namely: Bartley, Hardy, and
Hannah, belonging to Thomas Futrell, Deceased, to receive payment for
the same when sold, and the money to be divided amongst us and
himself, that is to say one-eighth of said money to each person and we
do further more agree that if any loss in collection of the same
should be sustained through an unavoidable accident that we will each
of us loose a partionally part of said loss and furthermore that we
will satisfy and pay said Lancaster for all extra trouble that he may
be at in doing the same. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our
hands this twenty first of January, 1818.

We the delegates of Thomas Futrell, deceased, formerly of NOrthampton
County, State of North Carolina, have met and agreed at that the
negroes belonging to the estate of said deceased, namely: Silvey,
Bartley, Hardy, and Hannah, shall be sold to the highest bidder on a
credit of twelve months, and the money when collected be equally
divided amongst his eight daughters, namely: Barashba Colson, Martha
Summner, Charity Futrell, Faithia Lancaster, Amey Skinner, Rebecca
Cahoon, Elizabeth Thomas, and Clarissa Barnes, to be by them and their
husbands, quitetly and enjoyed, that we Thomas and John Futrell do
entirely quit any claim to any part of said negroes, and we
furthermore agree that the verbal will of our mother Sarah Futrell,
which is now reduced to writing, shall stand just a

other this 24th day of December 1817.
