I am looking for a Sarah Calhoun b about 1830 in Ga (or Abbeville SC?).
Sarah Francis Calhoun married several times.
I know about a Robinson man whom she had kids with: Mary b1849 Emma b 1850-1851 and Walter
John b 1857 in GA.
They lived in Alabama for awhile, and she married another man, Dr Allen P Morris in 1859
in Montgomery Al.
In 1860 the family was in Louisiana (near Morris families of John Oliver and Darling P
Morris, unknown relation.) Sarah F Calhoun Robinson Morris and her husband A.P. (Allen)
had two more children, James O Morris and Sarah Frances Morris (aka Fannie) and lived in
Winn Parish and Morehead LA.
She died in 1869 LA of consumption.
All the known remaining Robinson and Morris family members and descendants came to Texas
on or around 1880.
I have no knowledge of her parents or siblings. However, while researching A.P. Morris in
the 1850 census, I discovered someone who might be her future husband Allen P. Morris.
Allen Morris was working as a teacher in the home of Dr Amos W. Mc Coy, age 28 bGA who was
a physician in Beat 4 Russell Alabama.
Dr Mc Coy may have been the son of Edmond and Salitia Mc Coy, born in Georgia who were
local planters in Russell AL.
Dr. Mc Coy and wife Mary age 22 bGA, had household members including a teacher Mr Morris,
two attorneys (John Powers & Leander McCoy, ages 27 &23), a mechanic John Edwards
age 24, and three more young men living with them Eaton Gibson age 14, James Tate age 11,
and John Calhoun age 11.
John Calhoun and Mr Tate were both born in Alabama, the rest were born in GA.
My Sarah would be born in 1830 in GA according to two census records, age 20 in 1850.
The John Calhoun listed in the home of Dr. Amos W Mc Coy was 11 years old born in Alabama
in 1839.
Does anyone have any knowledge or connections with either of these Calhouns or Mc Coys or
Morrises?
All help appreciated.
Thanks,
Diane
