Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hi, everybody --
Rootsweb was having some problems with one of their list servers this
last week. The last day or so, I've noticed list traffic die off to
practically nothing, even on the other server! People probably
stopped sending posts when they noticed that half of them never
posted. So I'm sending this to you all, no matter on which server the
list resided. :-)
To quote the last Rootsweb Review:
Most of the e-mail that was stalled during the downtime has been
delivered or will be shortly. However, a small amount of mail that
was being processed was lost, so if you haven't seen your mail arrive
double-check the threaded archives: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/
for your Mailing List, and if it isn't there, send it again.

Some recent subscriptions to Mailing Lists might have been lost. You
can determine which lists you are subscribed to by going to:
Password Central (at the RootsWeb Home Page:
http://www.rootsweb.com/
and click on the Passwords tab) or go directly to:
http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/
RootsWeb users can always obtain their forgotten passwords, user IDs,
and information about which mailing lists they are subscribed to at
Password Central. If you are a Mailing List administrator who altered
settings last week, you might want to double-check your list tools.
The HelpDesk posts timely announcements of general reference
interest. Check the yellow box for the latest information about a
specific RootsWeb service or problem, such as with Mailing Lists or
Message Boards. Answers to many other questions will be found in the
FAQs available there, too. It should be the first place you go when
you need assistance.
