Grove Hill, Clark County, in Southern Alabama is the area that I located
Hugh Calhoun and Nancy McLeod in the 1830's. They are in the
Prairieville community, Kaufman County Texas in the 1840 census. (The
Prairieville community was at times in Van Zandt County, it is just on
the border of these two counties, so I have found some info in both
counties.) Hugh Calhoun ran for Kaufman County Commissioner at some
point in the 1800's. I don't know if it was Hugh Calhoun (Methodist
Preacher) or Hugh Kendrick (Ken) Calhoun, the son of Hugh and Father of
Grover W. that ran for office.

Judy, be sure to check for an online obit here:
http://search.tpl.lib.wa.us/obits/ , and check out the website for the
Tacoma-Pierce Co. WA GS, http://www.rootsweb.com/~watpcgs/tpcgs.htm and
the Pierce Co. WA USGenWeb page, http://www.rootsweb.com/~wapierce/ . If
you can get a lookup from one of these places, or on the PSRoots-L mail
list of the address of the family in 1930 and 1920, you'll be able to
find them more easily in the US Census for those years. One way to
determine more closely when they left Texas is where they were for the
1920 Census.
