Diane, I don't have any information on Mary Calhoon's (Calhoun) family, other
than what I posted. I do have an extensive writeup on the Littell family of John Smith
Littell, His grandfather came from Belfast, Ireland prior to the Revolution and served as
a clerk in the colonial forces, in which his brother James was a private. He had 10
children but this doesn't help you. I would post it but it would take too long,
especially since it would be of no use to you. The Moffitt line from Beaver, Pa. is my
line.
My grandmother was Sarah Moffitt of Beaver, Pa. She was the daughter of John Moffitt and
Sarah Weiser or Wesiser. I sincerely believe that she was closely related to the Conrad
Weiser who was also in Beaver County, the same time as she was. The Conrad Weiser family
said, definitely not, but I think they are wrong!! John Moffitt was in the war of 1812
and I believe they married in New York as it does say they were in New York at one time.
They were very well off and !
their one son, was the first elected superintendent of schools in Jackson County, WVA. I
did see some Calhouns, Calhoons on the 1880 census that is now on line by the church of
the Latter Day Saints. but not yours. If I ever get back to researching this family, I
will post it on the board. Ann
