RAYMA JUANITA CALHOON EVANS

HOPE, Ark.-Rayma Juanita Evans, 94, of Hope died Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Texarkana.
Mrs. Evans was born Oct. 14, 1914, in Old Liberty community, Hempstead County, Ark. She
was a member of First Assembly of God, where she was a Sunday school teacher and pianist
for Men's Bible Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Robert Evans.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, June and Joe Hopson of Houston, Linda
and Nathan Williams of Pearland, Texas, Gail and Jerry Otwell of Harrison, Ark., and
Brenda and James Works of Texarkana; one sister, Louise Butler Tarpley of Hope; seven
grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home with the Rev. B.J.
Willhite officiating. Burial will be in Hope Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
NOTE: Juanita was the daughter of Elmer Ray Calhoon and Mary Audrey McClanahan Calhoon.
Elmer was the son of George Madison Calhoon and Susan Lee Summers of Pultight, Mississippi
CO., MO. Audrey McClanahan was the daughter of Alexander Green McClanahan and Sarah
Caroline Bruce of Fancy Farm and Mayfield KY.
