ALVIE MADISON CALHOON, aged 96 of Hope, a farmer, died Sunday, (11-08-1987). He was a
Baptist. Survivors are four sons,George Calhoon of Lewisville, Ray Calhoon of Sherwood,
Lile Calhoon of Baytown, TX, and Bruce Calhoon of Dallas; a daughter Evelyn C. Rogers of
Hope' a brother Eurie Calhoon of Hope, 12 grandchildren and 27 grandchildren adn 5
gggrandchildren. Funeral will be a 2: 00 P.M.,Tuesday ( 11-10-1987), at Herndon Funeral
Home in Hope, AR. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope.
.Pallbearers were his grandsons Wylie and Tommy Calhoon, grandson Mike Rogers,
grandsons-in-law Kevin Kraft and Harry Smith. The pastor was Harry Kennedy of Calvary
Baptist Church in Hope. Music was One Day At A Time by his granddaughter Debra Calhoon
Bigler, and I'll Meet You In the Morning by Debra and Kenny Daniel. He and wife Edith
are buried in Memory Gardens Cemetary, Garden of Faith, Lot 51 Spaces A & B
Alvie was the son of George Madison Calhoon and Susan Lee Summers of Pultight, Mississippi
Co.,His wife Edith was the daughter of Alexander Green McClanahan and Sarah Caroline Bruce
of Fancy Farm and Mayfield KY.
