I'm trying to make a connection between this couple, who were pioneer
residents of the State of Oregon and had a part in the founding of the City of
Astoria, and an Elizabeth Handley who is probably part of the "Handley clan
who went to Lewisburg VA [Greenbrier Co]" according to one of my records.
"Margaret Wetzel and Albert Wilkins Ferguson were married in Lewisburg,
Virginia on June 24, 1844."
Margaret Wetzel is reputedly the dau of George Wetzel Jr. and an Elizabeth
Handley; and the original Elizabeth Handley, if indeed there is a connection,
was my 7xgreat aunt, dau of David and Barthemia Kail of Augusta Co VA.
Any clues gratefully accepted.
