Hi, good to hear from you.
So do we add Catherine Meadows here? And what of the two children with Kesiah
in the 1850, not from John? maybe Mary Stafford age 5 in the 1850 with
Elizabeth and Kesiah is the child of Nancy Meadows Stafford who died before
1850. I bet Nancy died when the child was born; Idon't know what happened to
Granville, he is not in the 1850 anywhere. Maybe he went to Indiana too, haha
Maybe AJ can send us the info from the 1850, 60 and 70 census for John and
CAtherine, thanks
Descendants of John Cales
AJ died in 1926. I doubt he would be a very good source,
altho he WOULD
know. I wouldn't add any surname here, it's too uncertain. Her name was
Catherine, and AJ's great grandson remembers his telling that story . . .YOu
can add a "Catherine", that part is relatively sure, and the third wife was
Elizabeth, but we don't know who she was.
Keziah went back to her family. Her mother is listed in all the existing
censuses. Now if somebody on the list who lives near Summers County WV would
get the Summers County History book and look it up . . .<G> I'd buy one if I
knew where to get it. I can't even get on on interlibrary loan . . .
1 John CALES b: 1817 in Monroe Co., VA d: Aft. 1850 in Indiana
Chances are
he died in Illinois or Kansas, since his son Nelson Clausen and
others were born there. He would have been only 83 in 1900. I don't know why
nobody seems to remember him, but neither do we have a death date, and AJ
lived to be 90, he has a grandson who is now still living and is 94 . . .
.. +Kesiah MEADOWS b: 1815 in Monroe Co., VA m: 18 November

Mother: Elizabeth WYANT

It's PARKISON. Parkinsons is a
disease <G>
.... 2 Andrew Jackson CALES b: 09 February 1836
.... 2 Mary E? CALES b: 1845 in Giles Co., VA
.... 2 William CALES b: 1847 in Giles Co., VA
Mary and William are most
certainly not John's children. He was in Licking
Twp Indiana in 1845. Kesiah had a son named Archibald Cales too. I can't lay
my hands on the document right now. It's not in Marjorie's book . . .I may
be recalling a census record I've seen.
Thanks for writing.

Maybe I will catch up with my mail when I retire, in 2010, <grin>
