"I have been told this book has some inaccuracies, though."
Thanks for helping with the access; it should help anyone close to a local LDS Family
History Center.
Just in case anyone needs the reminder: A book, any book, is no better than its sources
& the ability of its author(s) to evaluate the raw data; it is never any better than a
secondary source of information. Books containing genealogical information should be
regarded as providing "leads" for research to confirm or reject their
statements, not final & definitive answers.
Ms. Williams' book was an ambitious undertaking, especially considering it was
published before the proliferation of genealogical information on the Internet. It's
not surprising that many of the individuals named are listed as "nfi", "no
further information". It's also unsurprising that it contains some inaccuracies.
Such is the fate of anyone working with incomplete information; someone will come along to
point out our mistakes.
BTW, Wendell (who started the thread on "Cales of Augusta Co., VA") seems to
have disappeared from e-mail. My recent messages to him have come back
"undeliverable".
