To the Cale & Cales Rootsweb Mailing Lists,
A website has been developed & posted at Rootsweb for family researchers of the Cale
& Cales surname, along with the many spelling variants. It's free; you do not need
to subscribe. The volunteer author receives no remuneration. The purpose of the site is to
promote research & information exchange among researchers of this surname.
You can access the site in a couple of ways. The most direct is to type (or copy &
paste) this URL into the Address box of your Internet browser:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cale2cales . (Add it to your
"Favorites" list or "bookmark" it to have your computer remember.)
Also, at
www.rootsweb.com, look under "Websites" & click on "Websites
on RootsWeb's Freepages". This will bring up a page with a list of numbers,
followed by letters -- click on the "C" to get a list of sites starting with
that letter. "Cale2Cales" should come out near the top of the very long list.
(It should appear on the list in a day or so.) A web search, such as on "Google"
may also uncover it, but this hasn't been tested.
The spelling variants of this surname include, but are not limited to: Cael, Cail, Cailes,
Cailles, Cails, Cale, Cales, Kail, Kailes, Kails, Kale, Kales, Kayles. Often, the same
individuals would have the name spelled in multiple ways -- sometimes in the same
document.
Contributions to the site are welcomed. A place for lines other than the author's has
been reserved. (It's expandable.) Or, anyone who's feeling adventurous can develop
his or her own site; notify me & we'll add a link. (At present, much of the
content relates to David Cale, b:1716, & his descendants, because that's the
information I had.).
If you are willing to exchange information with others, send me your name & e-mail
address for listing on the "Contacts" page.
Please note that the site does not include a GEDCOM family tree. These are posted
elsewhere at Rootsweb.
