Hi Folks,
You are way ahead of me in this research. I have some of my Great Uncle
John
Whalen's notes which he left for the family (he passed away in
1973) and
would
be very interested in hearing from anyone concerned with the family
listed
below... By the way, what is an Oral Hx ?
<<<<Sorry I don't know, would guess it is, or is a typo related to oral
history. I have re-posted this note maybe 40 times the past 7 years and
first time noticed. Will check back to see if it changed over the
years.
...
I am also interested in yours and Wilma's connection to this Caldwell
family and would love to have an address or email address for Wilma
also.
<<<< I've had no contact with Wilma (or didn't recognize) for some
time.
As I recall she (in WA or OR) 'handled. text gathered by an AZ lady for
a monthly/quarterly CALDWELL journal. I remember she ended/reduced her
contact to it and her CALDWELL related e-mail activity several years ago.
Very much anticipating hearing from you

(By the way, is Wilma from Maggie Valley, SC ?)
<<<<Don't know if she was orig from or moved back to SC, she was on west
coast during this group of notes.
I know my line back to a group in HAWKINS co TN who, down to MY
grandfather has primarily used COLDWELL spelling. He , Andrew Forga
CALDWELL, had a brother, William Patton COLDWELL who (with HIS
descendants) continued COLDWELL spelling.
In early 1700s, before 1749, the clerk in Lunenburg co VA changed
spelling of the group of Eng/Ire/Del(landing 1734)/PA/Cubb Creek VA
CALDWELLs in his era to COLDWELL. I haven't been able determine if I am
tied to them or that my east TN group shored as COLDWELLs.
