Hi Folks,
You are way ahead of me in this research. I have some of my Great Uncle John
Whalen's notes which he left for the family (he passed away in 1973) and would
be very interested in hearing from anyone concerned with the family listed
below... By the way, what is an Oral Hx ?
I am GG Granddaughter of Colewell Maxwell and Frances "Fannie" Caldwell. I
have had many of the same questions expressed here. I would love to hear from
you and share what little I have learned.
I am also interested in yours and Wilma's connection to this Caldwell family
and would love to have an address or email address for Wilma also.
Very much anticipating hearing from you
Lurose Landers
(By the way, is Wilma from Maggie Valley, SC ?)

Oral Hx by John Whalan, states Colwell (Caldwell) Maxwells
mother in Co Donegal was a Wallace, his father was James
Maxwell. He arrived York Co in 1848, Frances (Fannie)
Caldwell had a dau the next year and she and Colwell were
married in 1855 in Georgia, Whitfield/Walker Co.
Sure would like to piece this all together. Another thought
is Maybe John Whalen got the names mixed up...which I do
frequently..Maxwell and Caldwell.. and maybe Robert
Caldwell's mother was a Wallace. The Caldwells and Wallaces
were from the two counties, Donegal and Tyrone..in close>>
proximity and maybe they were all friends, relatives and
neighbors before they started coming over here.
Loves, Caldwells, Wallaces and Maxwells, that is! early in
so calif. >>
