Patti,
I was wondering if this book (is it new?) has any different information
regarding the wives of early NH CALDWELLs. In particular, about the James,
William, and Joseph CALDWELL that came over to NH in the early 1700's from
Ireland. So far, I don't think there has been any documentation as to the
maiden names of the wives of:
James CALDWELL (c 1685 prob. Scot. - c 1752 Hudson or Windham, NH) -
wife's first name "Hannah" and married in Ireland.
William CALDWELL (? prob. Scot. - aft 1737 Chester or Londonderry, NH) -
wife's first name "Mary" and married in Ireland (I think)
Joseph CALDWELL (c 1695 Scot. - aft 1757 NH) - wife's first name "Janet"
and married abt 1707 in Ireland.
I'm wondering what the book says about these Caldwells, and their origins -
and also what the sources for the book are! Also, does the book explain
any connections between the different sets of Caldwell's that came over to
different places in the US?
Thanks!
-Richard James (VI) Caldwell :)
