Hi Joyce: I too have Caldwells in my family, but they came over long
before 1840. If you are Scotch-Irish, that means you are Scotch and come
from North
Ireland. No Irish blood usually, as they didn't intermarry as a rule. I
have read all of this in books about immigrants from N. Ire. My people many
of them came from N. Ire. too. Good Luck on your searching and if you ever
find any of you family in KY<IN> or MD R.I. let me know. Happy hunting

Hello, my name is Joyce. I have been researching genealogy for about
9 years
now. I have compiled info. from all the Grandparents and Great- Grandparents
I got to talk to. My line of Caldwells are Scottish starts with Angus born
approx.1840-1860. Where I don't know possibly Scotland. He married Nancy
O'Neal. (So I'm Scotch-Irish) They had 8 kids who's names I have. The line
eventually ends up in Detroit, MI and then to San Fransico, CA.
