Howie,
I hope you have much more sucess at locating your James Caldwell and his
ancesters, than I am having. My great grandfather was James Walter
CALDWELL.My grandfather told me James died when James was in his 30's
due to diabetes.Grandpa was young I think but he said James was buried
in Eastview cemetery in Union City,Tennessee;Obion county. But it seems
that no one up there knows anything about him.I haven't been able to
locate James nor his wife Ida Parish.
I will keep you in mind while researching the Caldwell's.Are any of your
CALDWELL'S from around Kentucky or Tennessee?

I am beginning to research my family's history. I do not have any prior
experience in conducting this type of research and I would appreciate any
guidance available from members of this group.
My father, James Caldwell, was born in the Dalmuir area of Clydebank,
Scotland in or around 1908. His father George was a pattern-maker in the
shipyards. His mother was Eliza.
I would appreciate any advice on how to go about tracing the family history
from this information.
My name is Howie Caldwell and I live in Vancouver, British Columbia
(Canada).
Thank you for taking the time to deal with my request.
