I have John Caldwell and wife Jennet in Somerset Co., MD in 1688. They probably came
from Bally
Bogan and/or Clonleigh in the Parish of Lifford, Co., Donegal, Ireland.
I am trying to unravel the Bally Bogan Caldwell family in an effort to prove their
parents.
Perhaps impossible but I wonder if there are other descendants of this family in this
discussion
group.
Hi,
I may have some relatives in common but I doubt if I have any answers. I
have a Andrew Caldwell who married Margaret Train they had a Daughter
Named Agnes and she was born sometime after 1705 in my estimate and
married toJoeseph Skidmore. Agnes was born in Somerset Co MD.
The only other reference I have is a list of tracts of land from
Somerset MD in the beginning of the 18th century.
It states that Andrew had a tract of land called Quiet Entrance of 100
acres on april 25 1717
THe same record has a john with 4 tracts of land the names follow
Ballybuggen 190 acres 10 Aug 1713
Bear swamp 48 acres 30 Aug 1725
Oak Grove 200 acres 7 May 1723
Purchase 134 acres 20 April 1715
Could your John have been the father or brother of my Andrew? John seems
to be much more established in his property than Andrew. Perhaps John
gave Andrew his tract of land.... who Knows. I am going crazy. This
Andrew Caldwell has been giving me fits for months. THanks for some
hope!
