have you read the saga of the three Caldwell brothers who came to USA All
of the Caldwell's in this country are suppose to have originated with them.
They came over early 1700's. They were John, Alexander, and Robert (not
sure obout name Robert without looking it up.) Will copy and snail mail to
you if you want. vmw916

I started about 3 months ago with my geneological research. I am
searching
for information on my greatgrandfather, John William Caldwell, born
in
Stevenson, Jackson County, Alabama in 9/14/1880. His father was John
William
Caldwell Jr., born about 1856, his father's name also John
William
Caldwell.
When my gggrandfather, John William Caldwell Jr. died at the age of
27
in
1883, his wife Sarah (possibly Sallie) Rutherford moved to Texas to
live
with
Jim Thornton & family (cousins of some sort). There was very
little
contact
with Caldwell family in Alabama after that time. There may have been
a
brother by name of Robert and possibly a sister by name of Laura that
some of
my greatgrandfather's children were named after (at least
that's the
story
told by my great aunt). Any information would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks.
