Archie Caldwell, 73, a resident of Murfreesboro, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2004, at
St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was born May 26, 1930, in Stoney Fork, Ky., the son
of the late Thea Caldwell and the late Virgie Hoskins Caldwell.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by son Steve Caldwell.
He served more than 30 years in the U.S. Air Force and was of the Protestant faith. He was
a member of the Masonic Lodge in Murfreesboro.
Left to mourn his passing are the following members of his family: wife of 52 years of
marriage Mary Lou Caldwell, of Murfreesboro; sons Gregory Caldwell, of Murfreesboro, and
Mark Caldwell and wife Ingrid, of Oak Ridge; three grandchildren: Kalia Caldwell, Katie
Parsons and Zach Parsons; sisters Marie Caldwell Brock, of Stoney Fork, Ky., and Cordie
Bryant, deceased; sister-in-law Ruth Ann Merrill, of Murfreesboro; brother-in-law James E.
Hodges and wife Clara, both of Ashland, Ky.; a host of other relatives and loved ones.
The funeral for Archie Caldwell was Tuesday at the Creech-Durham Funeral Home Chapel, with
the Rev. Jeff Greene and James E. Hodge officiating. Music was by Mickey Wilder. Burial
followed in the Pinelawn Memorial Gardens on Laurel Hill. Military honors were given by
the Wright Air Force Honors Guard at the grave site.
