Hi All,
I am interested in a George Caldwell who wrote his will 27 Dec. 1742;
inventory dated 17 Feb. 1743 [Amelia DB 1:23]; estate settlement 9 Aug.
1748 [Amelia WB 1:52.]
If anyone else is interested in this George Caldwell, I would like to
exchange information.
Notes on George Caldwell:
!"While Cunningham, Little John, and Parks were able to appear at court and
record their deeds on 1 Nov 1742, George Caldwell did not. The following
year, Thomas Caldwell recorded the deed for the George Caldwell tract and
the land was eventually distributed to the named heirs in the same
proportions described by George Caldwell's will. Widow Sarah, sons George,
Thomas, and Henry, daus Jane, Marrey (to be schooled), and Agnes." [Pat's
comments]
!Is this George the brother of John Caldwell settler of Cub Creek? John
was b. 1683, and would have been 60 in 1743. Previous secondary
information gives John's brother George b. 1690, and wife Jane Phillips.
George b. 1690 would be 52. This George provides for the schooling of a
daughter. Could be but need more proof.
Children of George Caldwell and Sarah are:
2 i. George6 Caldwell1.
3 ii. Thomas Caldwell1.
4 iii. Henry Caldwell1.
5 iv. Jane Caldwell1.
6 v. Mary Caldwell1.
7 vi. Agnes Caldwell1.
Notes for Agnes Caldwell:
