There are Caldwell's in SC - VP of the Confederacy - John C. Calhoun - 'C'
was for Caldwell.
However - it seems my line wasn't in SC.

I am not sure if any of ours went to KY; however, they did start out
in SC
from Larne, Ireland. I have been researching this line for 10 years and
have a lot of material.
If you could give me some names in SC, perhaps I could make some connection.
