JEAN CALDWELL ADAMS (JeanAjca(a)aol.com) asked if my John Caldwell
(1782-1855) who lived in Monroe Co, TN was connected with the Cub Creek
Caldwells.
I don't thinks so-- at least, I've never been able to find a connection.
John's father was James Caldwell, who died in Hawkins Co, TN in 1813 and
left a will naming his wife and children. A later, unnamed, source
stated that James Caldwell was the son of William, and that James had
been born (or grew up) near Staunton, VA. The source also gave names of
siblings of James. I have not yet had the opportunity to verify any of
this information (about William and James' siblings).
Here is the information for William and James Caldwell, in case anyone has
run across these folks--
