Subject: Re: [CALDWELL-L] Thomas Caldwell of Cub Creek, VA
Hello Barbara,
Thank you for responding to my Thomas Caldwell message. Yes, I think we
may well want to compare notes. My Caldwell information is online at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~cascgs/
go to *family groups*
Glad to hear you are interested in placing your ancestors in historical
context. I have some, but would like more. If you take a look at my
*notes* you will find what I do have.
I am working with a couple of other researchers of this area who are
interested in Baker, Cunningham, Ewing, Finley, Fulton, Hanna, Littlejohn,
Parks, Sankey, Thomson, Wallace and a few others. As you say, there were a
lot of intermarriages. Have you tied into the information on Rev. John
Thomson? He and John Caldwell, settler of Cub Creek were associated while
still in PA---in the Donegal Presbytery. I am especially interested in
seeing how many of the group who were in Donegal made the move to what is
now Prince Edward County, VA, and can find documentation to go with it. Am
currently trying to get more information on Rev. Richard Sankey, son-in-law
of Rev. Thomson.
I believe Thomas Caldwell and Mary Jane Parks are my 4th great
grandparents, but would really like to have more proof. I have their son
John m. Ann Davis, but am not really sure of that. Just recently discovered
there are at least five Thomas Caldwells in the area. Can send you that
analysis if you wish.
Would especially appreciate it if you could look at your Robert/Mary Logan
Caldwell line to see if what I have is in agreement with what you
have---and whether you can add anything else.
