There must have been two different Charles Caldwell's because the information I was
looking at was written by someone looking for a Charles James Caldwell. I know that there
are many, many Caldwell's in the Lawrence and Gallia County area. Like I said, my
greatgrandmother was one of fifteen children and I have only worked on proving her direct
line at the moment but do have some information on her siblings. I also know that she had
a brother John that moved from Gallia Co. to Texas and her parents and several siblings
moved to California.
I will be glad to share any information I might have with anyone wanting it.

You are right about finding Caldwells in Lawrence County. AND you'll find a
Charles. My GGF, Charles Caldwell was married in Lawrence Count July 14, 1862.
He married Bridget Greene from County Cork or Limerick. They lived there and
went to Cathoilic church there, moved to PA in 1863 returning in 1865. My
grandfather and great aunt were born in Lawrence County. Then they moved to
Nelsonville, Athens County and lived out there lives there. If my GGF had a middle
name I never heard it.
Alan L. Caldwell, Austin, Texas but born in Nelsonville.
