This is my first post on this list. I recently discovered a clue regarding the possible
maidens name of my 2nd great, or my 3rd great grandmothers. These would have been wives
of Thomas Hamilton or of his father, Alexander.
Thomas was born 1777, son of Alexander Hamilton of KillensBawn, Killens townland, Cappagh
parish, co Tyrone, Ireland. He married about 1803 and remained on the Killens property.
There is evidence of a connection between these Hamiltons and the Caldwell name. A
Charles Caldwell was witness to the deed of Killens from Alexander to Thomas in 1803.
I've been searching for the names of the wives of Thomas and Alexander for many years.
If anyone has any information related to these data I would love to hear from you.
Other Tyrone County families that my Hamiltons married into, either in Ireland or in Ohio
in the mid 1800s, were Jack, Fair, Johnston, Crawford, Calhoun, McFarland and Weir.
