Surname: Caldwell
-------------------------
Looking for any info. on the death or other wherabouts of this man after
he was last found in the 1910 Valley County MT Census. His name on the
records stated his full name as John J. Caldwell. Articles in 1900 Valley,
County newspapers called him "Sarge" or "Jack". He had once worked as
a
ranch boss for the Neidringhaus-Neidringhaus Cattle Company in 1890-1900.
Also in the 1910 census it stated his parents were from Kentucky and Missouri.
Is there anyone out there missing this Caldwell and do not know his whereabouts??
I have found he may have been a scout for the Army also, when the Army
was settling the Fort Peck Indian Reservation of Mt. If you are missing
this man from any of your Caldwell lines, please let me know! Stories say
that this man is the father of my grandmother, Kate Caldwell Owens. She
is a Assiniboine Indian and was always told her father was a white man.
Probate records state his name a "Sage" Caldwell (white). I have some info.
on this man from early 1900 newspapers of Valley, Co. MT., but do not know
what became of him. Last article in Newspaper said he was living in a dug-out
along the Missouri River. Any info. on this lost Caldwell would be greatly
appreciated!
