Hi Ann,
I subscribe to the Queen Anne's County MD list and also the CALDWELL list
and saw both of your posts - for Robert CALDWELL and Nathaniel CURTIS. I
don't have any Curtis families that I know of, but the earliest I can
place
my CALDWELLs was Queen Anne's County, MD. My gg grandfather,
James Peckham
CALDWELL was born in MD in 1792, and his father, Dr. James CALDWELL
supposedly had a home on the Eastern Shore of MD. I found one record for
him in Queen Anne's County in 1793. Dr. James Caldwell's daughter, Jane
Caldwell CALDER had a son named Robert James CALDER who was born in
Baltimore.
I don't know where Dr. James Caldwell came from before he lived in QA
County. I don't know if he had any siblings, his wife's name, or who his
parents were. He or his parents may have immigrated from Ireland. Since
his
daughter named her son Robert, I thought I should ask you if your
Caldwells
ever lived in MD also. I know Robert is a common name, but you never
know.
It seems that this family appeared out of thin air. I believe Dr. James
Caldwell died sometime in the early 1800s. His son James Peckham CALDWELL,
and his two daughters, Jane Caldwell CALDER (widowed with son Robert), and
Anna Maria CALDWELL left MD and went to Christian County KY about 1818
until about 1832 when they all went to Brazoria County, TX.
I welcome any input from anyone who may know of this family. Thank you.

Hello to the list,
I am researching the Nathaniel Curtis family of Queen Anne's County MD.
Nathaniel married Susannah Thomas in St. Luke's Parish, Queen Anne County
on
October 3, 1745. Nathaniel owned 112 acres "part of Sarah's
Fancy". He
named his plantation "Barbados Hall". Nathaniel died in 1758 and Susannah
married William Ratliff, June 3, 1759 also in St. Luke's Parish. William
moved the family to Anson/Richmond Cos. in North Carolina about 1769.
A few researchers think that Nathaniel's family may have been from
Barbados.
I have been unable to find the parents or siblings of Nathaniel Curtis.
Any
lead, clues or information on Curtis families that may be connected
to
Nathaniel is very much appreciated.
I am glad to share information.
Thank you,
Ann
