I'm the listmom right now ( though it will be up for adoption soon) I'm
taking on some web authoring and need more time for it.
If you are writing about all the various messages coming through the past
three days we all know about it , the whole web is nearly down with it.
Rootsweb cannot send out attachments but attachments coming from virus
laden computers pick up the titles of the messages in their email folders
as well as any addresses and it expands from there.
In all my lists I have received over 1000 of them in three days. As
long as you don't open any attachments and use virus software you are
fine. Rootsweb messages are safe to open, check your headers and be sure
they are real rootsweb messages.
The current evolving virus messages are also sending themselves off
with some variations on addresses for instance my address is
hawkins(a)texoma.net but if my computer was 'harvested" or infected it
would send out messages with "_hawkins(a)texoma.net" or without anything
but a space in front of the hawkins.
Any other questions just write me directly.
